Brief introduction to the project and idea
Technology, at its core, is a process of exchanging bytes of data between two devices. Calibrated machines have learned to connect data and create access to knowledge in ways humans have never known before now. Connecting data, however, doesn't always translate into connecting people. Schools have seen this disconnection first hand during the COVID epidemic. School districts worldwide are reporting in over 50% of students choosing not to log in to class while schools are closed. Before the epidemic, Education was a two-tier system between in-person and online learning. In-person learning was considered superior because the belief human interaction was a crucial part of ongoing learning.
COVID has exposed the global need to create another path where there is an adaptive way for Education to connect with people online, in person, or on-demand.
In response to this challenge, project has developed an app around personal relationships to allow educators to teach wherever their class is and never lose the fluidity of the social and human connection found in a classroom. The product allows educators to teach their curriculum to their participants whether everyone is in class, online, on-demand, or a mix of all of the above. Technology is adaptive to wherever learning is happening, so educators can teach the way they want to and keep their students engaged, where ever they are.
How much was already invested into the project
130K USD has been invested over one year in the current production phase (An additional 55K has for wireframes and prototypes).
At what phase is the project at the moment and why do they seek an investor
They are currently in the launch phase of the project with paying clients. The YMCA is piloting the app in their Houston branch with the potential for them to use it on a national level. They are working with two non-profits. Iconoclast Artists teach creative writing and social and emotional learning to at-risk students between the ages of 12-17. They are in 20% of the public schools in the Houston area. Second, Project Curate is an organization dealing with issues of social justice.
Development so far of the app has been funded exclusively via grants, donations, and gifts given to two non-profits (project has full ownership of the product's technology and retains 100% of the tool's for-profit equity). The reason for requesting investor involvement is that the non-profits do not have the legal remit to take advantage of the technology's global marketplace and cannot fund subsequent growth.
Saying this, founders see a global need for the technology developed by the company and is looking for an investor who would want to take advantage of the worldwide market that could use the technology.
